'Interview for Success' workshop made possible by Bank of America, SBETA, and Arrowhead United Way Women’s Leadership Council

The Women’s Leadership Council (WLC), a group of community leaders committed to combining their knowledge and resources in order to assist underserved young women in the Arrowhead United Way service area, is providing young ladies with the tools to obtain employment through “Interview for Success”. The one-day workshop was held at the San Bernardino Employment and Training Agency (SBETA), combining practical topics such as resume writing, selfmarketing, and appropriate dress; with proper interview, social networking, and job etiquette. Participants were also registered with SBETA to support further pursuit of employment.

Completion of the workshop will result in a scholarship and a WLC mentor for a shopping trip to purchase interview-appropriate attire.

To be a participant in the workshop, young ladies ranging from ages 17 to 24 living, working, or going to school in the AUW service area are required to complete an application, provide 150 word essays, and a letter of recommendation. They are then each interviewed by WLC members prior to selection.
