The Central County United Way will begin accepting donations for its Santa’s Workshop holiday toy drive beginning Tuesday.
The program is in its 13th year. Last year the organization donated toys to more than 600 children in the San Jacinto Valley.
Collection boxes will be placed throughout the community for new, unwrapped toys for children ages 1-10.
The organization will have a call-in night for parents to register for the workshop, which is set for Dec. 22. To receive a toy, eligibility requirements must be met, including proof of residency in the area. Those who do not pre-qualify for the workshop will not receive a toy.
Collection boxes will be located at the United Way office, 418 E. Florida Ave., Hemet; and the Fingerprints Youth Museum, 123 S. Carmalita St., Hemet.
Businesses who wish to have a box for donations may request one from the Central County United Way.
