Professional Community Management of California, managing agent for Laguna Woods Village, has announced that it has raised about $16,000 for Orange County United Way through employee contributions during its annual fundraising drive this past week.
"Since our company was launched almost 40 years ago, we have placed a high value on contributing both time and financial support towards charitable efforts taking place in our communities," said Donny Disbro, CEO of Professional Community Management. "This commitment is alive and well today, as evidenced by the enthusiasm our employees have shown during this fundraising drive."
One of the highlights of PCM's annual fundraising drive is a day of games and activities, the buy-in to which is a cash or payroll-withholding contribution pledge to the Orange County United Way. Games include trivia contests and a make-shift potato car derby race.
"We're pleased that our employees are so committed to supporting these critical human services in our community," said Jerry Storage, General Manager of Laguna Woods Village. "My hope is that we can do more as a company each year to support the charities that help our communities thrive."
Orange County United Way invests in Orange County children, families, and individuals by mobilizing our community to meet their most basic human needs—food, shelter and medical care—while creating pathways to self-sufficient futures through education and training. One of the local organizations Orange County United Way supports is Laguna Woods-based Age Well Senior Services, which provides critical services, resources, and programs to home bound and low income senior citizens living in South Orange County, including residents of Laguna Woods.
"We appreciate the support PCM provides during their United Way fundraising drive every year," says Dr. Marilyn Ditty, CEO of Age Well Senior Services. "Their contributions help Age Well provide programs for homebound seniors such as Meals on Wheels and congregate meal programs, adult day health care, Alzheimer's social day care, non-emergency medical transportation and other health and wellness programs."
