Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
Change lives and gain new skills as a VITA Volunteer!
Did you know the Earned Income Tax Credit is the #1 antipoverty program in the country, but 92% of paid preparers fail to claim these credits on behalf of their client? Millions of dollars aren’t reaching the hands of California families who are already struggling to make ends meet.
Fortunately, our growing group of VITA volunteers are here to help! Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers help ensure families get the money back they deserve, all by assisting clients to successfully complete and file their taxes.
The hours are flexible, you can work virtually or in-person, and no experience is necessary! You will receive free IRS-certified training, so you will gain a variety of new skills while you simultaneously help uplift struggling families in your community.
Ready to get started? Fill out the form below to get connected with a training program in your area!

Advancing the Common Good: Creating Opportunities for a Better Life for All Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, financial stability to support a family through retirement, and good health.
That’s why United Way’s work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:- Education – Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
- Financial Stability – Promoting Economic Independence
- Health – Improving People’s Well-being
Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, and when people are healthy.
United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.- Article Count:
