Clare Margason is the Program Outreach Manager for the Kinship Navigator and CalSavers programs. In this role, she manages strategic partnerships and statewide outreach and supports activities that serve kinship families, caregivers, service providers, low-income residents and employers.
Clare joins United Ways of California with over a decade of experience in nonprofit management. She most recently worked as the Community Impact Director for United Way Monterey County. During her time in the Salinas Valley, Clare led the 211 program and the Impact Monterey County Network. Before joining United Way, she worked in Oregon, Tanzania and the Lao P.D.R. supporting education projects with the International Youth Foundation, Sustainable Laos Education Initiatives and the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization. Clare is proud to have dedicated her professional life to working on changing systems so that they are more equitable, inclusive and compassionate for all people. She is especially dedicated to youth development, immigrant rights, environmental justice and LGBTQIA rights. She holds B.A.s in Latin American Studies and Music Performance from Portland State University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
