Shantay Armstrong
Shantay is the Trusted Messengers Program Manager for United Ways of California. Social justice, healing trauma and creating healthy families are themes threaded throughout Shantay’s life.
Shantay has lent her notable talents to institutions like Harlem Children’s Zone, Seamen’s Society for Children and Families, both in New York City, and the Early Childhood Mental Health Program, of the Bay Area. She's currently an active parent in her son’s school, helping to form a parent-led group that promotes Diversity, Equity and Inclusion schoolwide, from the ground up. Shantay holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Cal State LA.
In this role, her work includes the economic growth and financial empowerment of communities, utilizing in person and digital outreach in collaboration with local partners. The program raises awareness about tax credits available to families who primarily identify as BIPOC and lower working-class to ultimately lower poverty and increase health outcomes.
Shantay is the proud mother of two boys and originally from Brooklyn, NY. She likes to go for short walks on the beach, read and paint.
