Kristen Rivera
Kristen Rivera is United Ways of California Program Coordinator for Food and Farmworker Relief Program. Kristen supports United Ways of California in program implementation while is as a point of contact for local united ways, the public, and external organizations. Her primary role is to assist providers navigate the application process and ensure farm workers receive their relief payment.
She comes from a background of working with immigrant families, farm workers, formerly incarcerated, and foreign national survivors of human trafficking within legal and social services. Kristen’s eight years in direct services have tailored her expertise in identifying and improving culturally and linguistically responsive services within non-profit organizations and federal programming. Her consultant work with the Office of Trafficking of Persons has allowed her to inform local community-based organizations, state entities, and national stakeholders to become more equipped in identifying the needs of victims of crimes within the immigrant community and create survivor-led policies. She is passionate about creating opportunities that will empower and generate economic mobility for low-income families.
Kristen holds a B.A. in Sociology and Latin American and Latino Studies from University of California, Santa Cruz and Master's of Science in Mass Communication from San Jose State University. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
